Toya's Innovation Factor
At Toya we believe that a challenge is an opportunity to grow. That’s why our research and development lab is always working on something special. Right now, we’re making charcoal from used coffee grounds. Rather than letting them rot in the landfill for months, we gave coffee grounds an extra life by adding a new purpose for them. This is one of the various projects we’re tackling as part of Toya’s zero-waste commitment. Thanks to our R&D lab, we’re always leveling up in quality and sustainability.

Citronella Oil Gives Financial Independence to Sumba Farmers
We think all businesses should be good for the people working in them and the environment they’re a part of. Just ask our Citronella farmers in Sumba. As partners, we mentor and support the local farmers throughout the planting and tending process of the citronella plant. We help monitor the harvesting period for optimal yield. Then, we bring the harvested leaves to be distilled right at our Sumba plant to minimize the carbon count. By building a local citronella oil operation, we’ve provided consistent income for the farmers and workers in Sumba. It helps their families to thrive and empowers the community to grow economically. When businesses are built to be good for the people and the environment, the impact goes far beyond us.
